BelNPP's first unit to undergo routine maintenance

MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – The first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) will undergo routine maintenance and repairs, BelTA reports citing the Energy Ministry's Telegram channel.

Annual scheduled maintenance and repairs are essential if nuclear power plants are to operate efficiently and reliably.

The reactor of the first unit will be partially refueled with fresh fuel, and the equipment of the reactor, turbogenerator, main circulation pumps and other equipment and technological systems will be checked.

Specialists will also conduct metal checks as well as diagnostics of welded joints of equipment. In addition to that, a number of measures will be taken to increase the reliability and efficiency of the unit.
