Confidence in timely construction of Belarusian nuclear power plant

The schedule for building the Belarusian nuclear power plant will be observed without a doubt, BelTA learned from Sergei Kiriyenko, Director General of the Russian state nuclear industry corporation Rosatom, during the 7th international forum Atomexpo 2015 in Moscow on 2 June.

According to Sergei Kiriyenko, the fact that the Belarusian nuclear power plant is being built by two countries, which are partners in the Union State of Belarus and Russia, plays a very important role. Thanks to the abilities inherent in the Union State all the decisions concerning the nuclear power plant are made very fast. Solutions to problems are found virtually right away. The two countries have done everything to enable conditions most favorable for building the nuclear power plant. The factors guarantee that the schedule for building the nuclear power plant will surely be observed, stressed the Rosatom head.

Sergei Kiriyenko added that Rosatom invites many partners, who are in early stages of nuclear power plant construction projects, to go on a tour of the Belarusian nuclear power plant with permission of the Belarusian side. “There is definitely something to see and learn there. The construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is an example of fine work organization and discipline. The fact has been universally acknowledged by IAEA experts and specialists from other countries. We quite often refer to the Belarusian nuclear power plant as an example of how fast things went from the moment of initial agreements to the construction stage,” said the Rosatom head.
