The core equipment for the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) is expected to be delivered to the construction site in 2016-2017, Belarusian Energy Minister Vladimir Potupchik said in an interview with BelTA.
“The construction of both power-generating units of the BelNPP proceeds according to the schedule established in the general contract. Some 5,000 builders are working on the project. The contract stipulates that a total of RUB15.7 billion will be spent this year, which is 1.4 times as much as in 2014,” Vladimir Potupchik noted.
In 2016, the work on the first power-generating unit will include the beginning of the assembly of the reactor vessel, turbine, steam generators, and electrotechnical equipment and the welding of the main circulation line. As for the second power-generating unit, the construction of the main buildings and facilities will continue.
