Equipment for BelNPP’s turbine island made by Atomenergomash

28.02.2017
ZiO-Podolsk (included in Rosatom’s machine building division Atomenergomash) produced and prepared for shipment the equipment for the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP). This information is available on the website of Atomenergomash, BelTA has learned.

The plant has finished the manufacture of four sets of separator superheaters SPP-1200 for the turbine island of power-generating unit No. 2 of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The total weight of products made up about 900 tonnes.

Separator superheaters are meant for the drying and heating of wet vapor coming from the high-pressure cylinder of the turbine. These are vertical devices consisting of three parts in one body frame. The steam reheating system is one of the auxiliary systems needed for the operation of the turbine plant. The service life of this equipment is 50 years.

The technical project and engineering documents were developed by the specialists of the Nuclear Machine Building Department of ZiO-Podolsk. They also monitor the process of manufacture and installation.

Earlier ZiO-Podolsk produced and delivered four sets of SPP-1200 superheaters for power-generating unit No. 1 of the BelNPP. Such devices were also made for the new power-generating units of the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant (power-generating units No. 6 and No. 7) and the Leningrad nuclear power plant (power-generating units No. 1 and No. 2).

Atomenergomash plants deliver all the crucial equipment for the reactor department and a major part of equipment for the turbine island of the Belarusian NPP.

The Belarusian nuclear power plant is a project to build a VVER-1200 type nuclear power plant 18km away from Ostrovets, Grodno Oblast. The BelNPP will have two power-generating units with the total output capacity of up to 2,400MW (2x1,200MW). The first power-generating unit will be commissioned in 2019, the second – in 2020.
