MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – An audit of equipment and technical systems of the first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant has been finished. The audit was organized to find out why automatic generator protection kicked in on 12 July, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Energy Ministry's Telegram channel.
According to the source, tests prompted the need to replace one of the components of the turbine generator's exciter. The relevant work is in progress with assistance of the Russian manufacturer.
The Energy Ministry noted that once the work is over, additional tests and the diagnostics of the equipment and systems of the turbine generator will be organized. Then the first unit will be reconnected to the power grid.
