Hungarian delegation to visit BelNPP construction site

A Hungarian delegation comprising representatives of the government, municipal authorities and reporters will pay a visit to the construction site of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BelNPP) on 7-9 December, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Energy Ministry of Belarus.
“During the visit the guests will get familiar with the progress made on the main facilities of the arising nuclear power plant in Belarus,” specialists noted.
Apart from that, the delegation plans to meet with the Ostrovets District authorities and see the Information Center in Ostrovets and the training center of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant. The Hungarian delegation will also visit the nuclear power information center in Minsk and the Military Glory Museum.
“The visit has been organized as part of the active cooperation between the State Corporation Rosatom and the Hungarian government within the Russian-Hungarian interaction in the construction of the nuclear power plant Paks 2 with the reactors under the Russian technology VVER-1200,” the press service of the Energy Ministry said.
The Belarusian nuclear power plant is being built 18km away from the town of Ostrovets, Grodno Oblast. The BelNPP will have two power-generating units with the total output capacity of up to 2,400MW (2x1,200MW). The first power-generating unit of the nuclear power plant is scheduled for launch in 2018, the second one in 2020.
