Lukashenko calls for prudence in housing matters for BelNPP personnel

27.07.2015
We need to apply a prudent approach to housing matters for the specialists of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP), Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting to discuss the training of the personnel for the nuclear industry and provision of housing to the Belarusian NPP personnel on 27 July, BelTA has learned.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, lots of proposals have been made regarding the retention of personnel. The President cautioned against "fast and poorly thought-out decisions” on this matter. “Specialists of middle and senior segments will be paid good salaries. Such specialists are paid highly everywhere in the world. Therefore we need to take into account that they will be able afford some housing, for example, rental housing," said the head of state

"The options are many and different and we will discuss them. But let’s keep in touch with reality in these matters," Alexander Lukashenko said and cautioned against giving apartments for free.

"This should not be the case, either in two, three or ten years. People should know that they will have a very promising job with good salary. We will support them in this regard. But we have social responsibilities which we should remember about,” stressed the President.
