Performance testing of Belarusian nuclear power plant's second unit begins

MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian nuclear power plant has started performance testing of equipment of the nuclear power plant's second unit, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.

The Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry (Gosatomnadzor) granted the permission to begin performance testing of equipment of the second unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant the day before.

It is the final substage of the pilot commercial operation of the second unit. For 15 days the second unit will continuously operate at 100% of its rated output, the Energy Ministry press service explained.

Performance testing is supposed to confirm that technological systems, core equipment, and auxiliary equipment of the unit meet design parameters and safety requirements.
