The construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant stays on schedule. The statement was made by President of Russia Vladimir Putin after the session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on 3 March, BelTA has learned.
“The construction proceeds on schedule. The first power-generating unit is scheduled to go online in 2018,” said Vladimir Putin.
In turn, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Belarus feels Russia’s support. “Not mere support. We are implementing major projects. You have mentioned one of them: a nuclear power plant worth $10 billion. I should tell you that we are already two months ahead of the schedule. Belarusians and Russians are building it together, hand in hand. And we have a very big space project, high technologies,” stressed the Belarusian leader.
