Security of Belarusian nuclear power plant emphasized

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – The Internal Affairs Ministry pays close attention to the security of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. Belarusian Internal Affairs Minister Ivan Kubrakov mentioned it during a trip to Ostrovets where a capsule with a message to future generations was buried at the construction site of the administrative building of the local branch of the ministry's Security Services Department, BelTA has learned.

Ivan Kubrakov was also made familiar with accommodations of military personnel of unit No.7334 of the internal forces of the Internal Affairs Ministry. The unit is in charge of the Belarusian nuclear power plant's security. “This area is under special control. We see that such installations as well as socially important facilities, including schools and kindergartens, become a target for terrorist attacks that happen outside our country. And today we do our utmost in order to defend them,” the minister assured.

A special unit of the internal forces has been deployed in the town of Ostrovets in order to ensure the security of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. All the necessary measures have been taken to secure the nuclear power plant, including technical ones. Foreign terrorist attacks and the experience of other countries have been analyzed. According to Ivan Kubrakov, the security of the nuclear power plant will continue to be ensured both on the ground and in the air.
