Progress in work on first unit of Belarusian nuclear power plant described
The official noted: “We've finished the first stage of the pilot commercial operation stage, the so-called G1. We had to practice operating the unit at all the output settings (50%, 75%, 90%, and 100% of the nominal output).”

WANO technical support mission working at Belarusian nuclear power plant
Goals of the mission include sharing and studying the best practices in matters concerning the organization of workstation inspections and work oversight. The expert group includes highly qualified specialists of Rosenergoatom Concern and experts of WANO's Moscow center.

According to the source, a train carrying fuel rod arrays with fresh nuclear fuel for the second unit arrived at the Belarusian nuclear power plant site on 19 April.

Plans to decide on license to operate first unit of Belarusian nuclear power plant in May
The official said: “The commissioning of the nuclear power plant involves several stages, including the physical launch and the reactor power startup. The pilot commercial operation stage is in progress now and provides for over 250 tests. They are in the final phase now.”

Belarusian nuclear power plant's first unit to be disconnected from power grid
According to the source, specialists will have to examine and evaluate the effectiveness of systems and equipment before going ahead with the final dynamic tests in line with the pilot commercial operation stage program. The work will proceed step by step and the unit will be disconnected from the power grid.

WANO technical support mission starts working at Belarusian nuclear power plant's second unit
The WANO experts will evaluate the effectiveness of the organizational structure and the administrative management of the second unit. They will analyze personnel training conditions and will inspect the radiation and fire safeguards as well as maintenance systems of the second unit.

BelNPP's first unit generates 1.8bn kWh of electricity
According to Belarus' Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich, the volume of electricity consumption in the country will increase to 44 billion kWh by 2025. In 2020, this figure was 38 billion kWh.

Belarus' nuclear power plant expected to meet 40% of domestic energy needs
“All in all, the BelNPP will generate about 18.5 billion kWh per year. This is about 40% of the country's electricity consumption under current conditions,” Viktor Karankevich said.

Energy Ministry comments on tax exemption for Belarus' nuclear power plant
The document provides for the extension of BelNPP's exemption from the real estate tax and land tax until 31 December 2041, as well as its exemption from the income tax, calculation and transfer of part of the profit to the budget until 31 December 2041.
