Organization of Belarus' radioactive waste management system explained
Viktor Karankevich said: “The Belarusian nuclear power plant will generate approximately 180m3 of radioactive waste in the course of its operation or as much as 95% of the country's total. Work is still in progress to select the site for burying radioactive waste. Survey work is in progress."

"As we decide in favor of the second nuclear power plant or the third unit, we have to analyze the year 2040 instead of 2030 or 2035. We have to evaluate how the manufacturing sector will develop, how much electricity Belarusian households will use, how electricity consumption volumes will change,” the energy minister noted.

Belarus, Russia amend agreement on parallel operation of power grids
