Russian cities interested in buying Belarusian electric vehicles
New passenger electrobuses will be put to use in Zhodino. A solemn ceremony to hand over 14 modern MAZ 303E electrobuses to the local mass transit company took place in the city on 28 March. The electrobuses are powered by 285kWh accumulators located on the roof to increase the seating capacity as much as possible.

New electrobuses handed over to mass transit operator in Belarusian Zhodino
Diesel buses used inside the city are supposed to be replaced with electrobuses as part of a pilot project. In 2023 the government authorized a pilot project for shipping electric vehicles to Belarusian cities and towns. Zhodino and Shklov are the first cities on the list.

Passenger transport production in Belarus on the rise
Piotr Parkhomchik said: “Taking into account the electric vehicle acquisition tasks we had to accomplish in 2023, we did not completely fulfill the available orders. Some orders rolled over into Q1 2024. And we have fulfilled them. Output figures are rising at Minsk Automobile Plant and Belkommunmash.”

Advantages of new electrobuses in Shklov District pointed out
A BKM electrobus can seat 31 people and has standing room for another 36. There is also space for a wheelchair or a pram. Passengers also have access to power sockets for charging their gadgets, “warm” buttons inside and outside to demand a stop.

Belarusian cities to continue adopting electric vehicles for mass transit purposes
Piotr Parkhomchik said: “The realization of the first pilot project within the framework of the Belarusian government’s resolution ends today. Today we have handed over 15 passenger electrobuses to Shklov District and the city of Shklov.”

Pilot projects to switch mass transit systems to electric vehicles in final stage in Belarus
The pilot projects are in progress in the city of Zhodino and in Shklov District. Two Belarusian manufacturers of passenger electric vehicles are taking part in them: MAZ and BKM (previously known as Belkommunmash).

Belarus suggests cooperation in electric transport, ecology to Rosatom
Sergei Shlychkov said: “The State Committee on Science and Technology started interacting with Rosatom upon Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko’s instruction to determine avenues of cooperation between our country and the state corporation [Rosatom] on atomic non-energy projects and non-atomic projects."

Andrei Khudyk and Alexey Likhachev discussed a broad range of cooperation avenues in environmental protection and rational use of natural resources. They singled out the most promising projects from the point of view of realization, including studying the possibility of organizing environmentally friendly waste neutralization, including hazardous waste.
