IAEA’s SEED mission to visit Belarusian nuclear power plant in January 2017
A number of stress tests of the Belarusian nuclear power plant will be carried out by the end of the year to test the facility’s resilience to extreme situations. The safety of the nuclear power plant during extreme situations will be analyzed.

Russian company to make main pipeline for second reactor of Belarusian nuclear power plant in 2017
Early this year Izhorskiye Zavody made pipe spools of the main circulating pipeline for the first power-generating unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant and shipped them to the customer. The production of the main circulating pipeline and its delivery will be completed in April 2017.

Belarusian nuclear power plant to start installing reactor vessel in late 2016 at the earliest
Vladimir Potupchik said: “The manufacturer is about to finish testing the reactor pressure vessel. The vessel is supposed to be sent to our construction site in October. We intend to use it as part of the first power-generating unit.”

IAEA to test emergency preparedness of BelNPP before its launch
“We offer Emergency Preparedness Review (EPREV) missions that evaluate the preparedness to respond to a radiation emergency. Belarus has already requested such a mission. We will be working on its preparation together,” Elena Buglova said. The mission is scheduled to be carried out in 2018.

IAEA-compliant system to monitor radiation around Belarusian nuclear power plant
The official remarked that the monitoring system is fully compliant with the IAEA requirements and recommendations. “Our leading specialists, who work in this field, are IAEA experts, this is why we put all the recommendations of the agency into practice right away,” remarked Maria Germenchuk.
