Preparations to install reactor pressure vessel at Belarusian nuclear power plant construction site
The reactor pressure vessel was delivered to Ostrovets in late 2016. “The piece of equipment went through incoming inspection without any remarks. Preparatory work is now in progress to install the reactor vessel as part of the first power-generating unit,” said Mikhail Mikhadyuk.

Belarus against politicizing dialogue on BelNPP
The minister noted that Belarus is exporting electricity to Lithuania. The country provides mutual emergency assistance to the Lithuanian power system. “We have never associated these activities with any kind of politics. I think that all the issues regarding the BelNPP construction that arise can be solved calmly,” Vladimir Potupchik added.

Belarus to spend $580m on building nuclear power plant in 2017
In 2017 construction and installation operations will be carried out at 130 primary and auxiliary facilities of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. There are plans to pour 190,000m3 of concrete and install 26,000 tonnes of reinforcement bars.

Nearly 8,300 people to work at BelNPP construction site by 2017 year end
The Energy Ministry also provided plans on the construction of housing for the builders and specialists of the nuclear power plant. In 2017 six houses with the gross residential area of 13,200 square meters will be built in Ostrovets.

Belarus, Rosatom set BelNPP construction tasks for 2017
The Belarusian nuclear power plant is a project to build a VVER-1200 type nuclear power plant 18km away from Ostrovets, Grodno Oblast. The BelNPP will have two power-generating units with the total output capacity of up to 2,400MW (2x1,200MW).

Belarus invites Lithuania to set up joint agency for post-project analysis of BelNPP
Following the consultations, the Belarusian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection sent an invitation to the Lithuanian Ministry of Environment on 23 December 2016 confirming its readiness to continue the dialogue at the expert level.

Belarusian nuclear power plant to start getting nuclear fuel in late 2018
The official reminded that in line with the general contract on building the Belarusian nuclear power plant the general contractor will have to supply enough fuel to fully load the two reactors and to reload them one more time.

Replacement reactor vessel prepped for installation at Belarusian nuclear power plant site
The replacement vessel had been delivered to the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The general contractor has prepared the technical solution for using the vessel as part of the first power-generating unit.
