Novovoronezh nuclear power plant licensed to operate VVER-1200 reactor
The license to operate the new-generation VVER-1200 reactor will allow the nuclear power plant personnel to start loading fresh nuclear fuel into the reactor’s active zone. Fuel rods will be loaded into the reactor under supervision of oversight agencies. The procedure will begin with transporting the fuel from the fresh fuel storage facility.

Belarus speaks against Espoo Convention manipulations in favor of economic ambitions
Belarus is against the Espoo Convention being manipulated for the sake of satisfying economic or political ambitions. The statement was made by Belarusian First Deputy Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Minister Iya Malkina in an interview with BelTA over the phone on 15 March. The official took part in the 35th session of the Espoo Convention Implementation Committee in Geneva.

During the 35th session of the Espoo Convention Implementation Committee in Geneva Belarus suggested that Lithuania should be made familiar with the progress in building the Belarusian nuclear power plant at the construction site near Ostrovets, the press service of the Belarusian Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry told BelTA.

Nuclear energy consistent with European eco-friendly trend
During the climate summit in Paris in December 2015 195countries supported the Framework Convention on Climate Change, according to which, parties involved shall make every effort to prevent the rising of the Earth’s temperature by more than 2°. Primarily, the plan to achieve this involves lowering CO2 emissions by 2030 by not less than 30%.
