Belarus President’s monthly grants awarded to 67 scientists and researchers in 2015
In science the grants have been awarded to 28 doctors and candidates of sciences. The grants will focus on the research in various fields such as chemical technologies and materials, energy security, energy efficiency and energy saving, nuclear energy, nanomaterials.

Chizhik wants share of NASB foreign contracts at 30%

Lukashenko urges to expand use of cashless payments in Belarus

Latin-American research center to open at Minsk university
The decision to set up the center was taken to promote partnership between Belarus and Latin America. The center will provide teachers, students and other stakeholders the possibility of getting authentic information on the countries of Latin America as well as holding talks with foreign specialists-experts, the Press House said.

Braslav receives €600,000 for energy-saving project
The Covenant of Mayors (or the Agreement of Mayors) is a large project whose participants seek to promote sustainable energy development and economical use of fuel resources. Signatories to the covenant are 5,000 cities around the world. Braslav was the seventh town in Belarus to join the agreement. According to the project, all cities voluntarily undertake the "20-20-20" commitments: to cut carbon emissions by 20%, to reduce energy consumption by 20% and to increase the share of renewable energy by 2020.

Light technology cluster established in Belarus
According to Igor Kaleda, the agreement to establish the light technology cluster has been signed by the participating enterprises, approved by the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and by the Industry Ministry, and has been authorized by the Energy Effectiveness Department. For now the cluster comprises Brest Electric Lamp Plant and the Digital Television Institute, which are part of the holding company Horizont, and the LED and Optoelectronic Technologies Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. “But we are open to other companies, too,” noted Igor Kaleda.
