Mikhadyuk: IAEA satisfied with BelNPP safety standards
In particular, Mikhail Milhadyuk noted that the IAEA is satisfied with the NPP construction progress and the observation of safety requirements. “The IAEA is interested in the training of the personnel of the nuclear power plant and in the project as such, namely our efforts to learn the Fukushima lessons and the safety systems we are using,” he said. The deputy energy minister stressed that the IAEA cannot criticize the Belarusian side for the violation of regulations and recommendations.

Belarusian nuclear power plant to get utility water in October
The Director General said: “One of the key steps in building the Belarusian nuclear power plant is delivering utility water from the Viliya River. It will be done in October 2016. The source of utility water is located 11km away from the construction site. The necessary pipes have been laid down. Small amounts of water will be borrowed from the Viliya River only for the sake of compensating for losses due to vaporization.”

Installation of Belarusian nuclear power plant’s primary equipment to begin this year
Plans have been made to go ahead with the main operations to build the first power-generating unit.
