Reactor vessel in transit to Belarusian nuclear power plant
The reactor is a vertical cylinder with an elliptical bottom. The reactor core and the internal components will be located inside. The reactor is hermetically sealed by a lid that also bears the actuators and mechanisms meant to regulate the process and protect the reactor.

Russian Atommash to deliver equipment to Belarusian nuclear power plant on time
Atommash is still busy making the reactor vessel for the second power-generating unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. Vitaly Shishov explained the piece of equipment will be made faster than the reactor vessel for the first unit without cutting corners.

The reactor vessel successfully went through hydraulic testing in late September. The reactor is a vertical cylinder with an elliptical bottom. The reactor core and the internal components will be located inside. The vessel’s walls are 200-400mm thick.

Alexander Lukashenko was interested in security issues. He emphasized that there is no need to be in a hurry while building the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The President was assured that there are five stages of control at the construction site. Vladimir Semashko stressed that the construction proceeds in compliance with strict quality control standards.

About 4,600 builders working at Belarusian nuclear power plant construction site
In late September 2015 the internal protective shell of the reactor building in the first power-generating unit reached the 34 meters mark while the external shell reached the 22 meters mark. Construction and installation operations inside the turbine building went beyond the 16 meters mark. As far as the cooling tower is concerned, the tower’s shell reached the 142 meters mark.

Plans to open BelNPP's training center by year-end 2015
Vladimir Gorin noted that the training center will have a full-scale nuclear power plant control room simulator. Those who work at NPP control rooms are responsible for the nuclear and radiation safety of the plant and for its stable and accident-free operation. All future BelNPP control room operators will undergo training with the help of the simulator.
