Another core catcher for Belarusian nuclear station on its way
The Volgodonsk-based branch Atommash of ZAO AEM Technologies (part of Atomenergomash, which is the mechanical engineering division of the Russian state corporation Rosatom) is in the process of shipping components of the core catcher for the second power-generating unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, BelTA learned from OAO Atomenergomash representatives.

Ukrainian enterprise starts making condensate pumps for Belarusian nuclear station
In line with terms of the contract the Ukrainian company has to design and make two modifications of pumps. The pumps are meant for the first and second power-generating units of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The first batch of merchandise (three pumps for each modification) is expected to be delivered to the Ostrovets construction site in 2015. The second delivery is scheduled for early 2017.

Belarusian welders certified as fit for Belarusian nuclear station project
“The construction of any nuclear power plant requires a considerable volume of welding operations. The Belarusian nuclear power plant is built in line with Russian norms and requirements, which means that all the welding operations are to be carried out in accordance with Russian rules for the nuclear power engineering industry,” stressed Vladimir Popov, Deputy Director General for Manufacturing of OAO NIKIMT Atomstroy.

Nuclear oversight division at Belarusian nuclear station construction site by year end
The division to be deployed at the construction site is supposed to comprise about ten people. Accommodation will be provided to the specialists in Ostrovets, said the source. For now they oversee the construction of the nuclear power plant via scheduled and unscheduled inspections.

No problems with equipment supplies for Belarusian nuclear power plant
“There are no problems involved in equipment supplies at present. We promptly address all the emerging issues at sessions of the operations center in charge of building the nuclear power plant,” said the Belarusian Energy Minister. He remarked that schedules had been worked out for the delivery of equipment and performing operations at the first and second power-generating units of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. “We are now on schedule and everything proceeds as planned,” added Vladimir Potupchik.

Belarusian nuclear station construction progress close to 10%
Mikhail Filimonov stressed that all the operations are carried out on schedule and sometimes ahead of schedule. “Construction work at the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is proceeding very actively now. The construction workers are busy building the unground parts of both reactors, the machinery room, and a special reservoir. The unique structure of a grading bowl as high as 170m is being built. For now the construction work progress is virtually at 10% mark,” said the Director General.

60-year warranty for Belarusian nuclear reactor
The Russian manufacturer of the reactor unit for the Belarusian nuclear power plant — OAO Atomenergomash — offers a 60-year warranty for this piece of equipment, Vitaly Shishov, Director for Operations of the Volgodonsk-based branch Atommash of ZAO AEM Technologies, told media on 18 June, BelTA has learned.

Blanks for BelNPP reactor vessel from Kramatorsk on schedule
The Kramatorsk Plant Energomashspetsstal has guaranteed the supplies of the blanks for the reactor of the second power-generating unit of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BelNPP) in due time, Vitaly Shishov, Operations Director of Atommash, the Volgodonsk subsidiary of AEM Technology, told media on 18 June, BelTA has learned.

First reactor vessel for BelNPP in autumn 2015
The Volgodonsk subsidiary of AEM-Technology is set to deliver a reactor vessel for the first power-generating unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) in autumn 2015, Operations Director of the Atommash subsidiary Vitaly Shishov told media on 18 June, BelTA has learned.
