Energy Ministry to get full license for first unit of BelNPP soon
The Energy Ministry is expected to get the full license for the first power-generating unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant in the near future, Deputy Energy Minister of Belarus Mikhail Mikhadyuk told a press conference during the 6th international exhibition AtomExpo Belarus 2014 on 1 April, BelTA has learnt.

Construction of second unit of Belarusian nuclear station 6-8 months ahead of schedule
The construction of the second power-generating unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is 6-8 months ahead of schedule, BelTA learned from Yuri Neretin, chief engineer of the representative office of OAO NIAEP, at the suppliers conference Atomex Belarus on 1 April. The conference was held as part of the international specialized nuclear industry expo AtomExpo Belarus 2014.

Belarus ready to sign Espoo Convention agreement with Lithuania
Belarus is ready to sign an agreement with Lithuania on the implementation of the Espoo Convention, First Deputy Minister of Natural resources and Environment Vitaly Kulik told media at AtomExpo Belarus 2014 on 1 April, BelTA has learnt.

Conceptual aspects of the project to build the Belarusian nuclear power plant will be discussed at the 6th international specialized expo and conference AtomExpo Belarus 2014 that will take place in Minsk on 1-3 April, representatives of the forum’s organizing committee told BelTA.

Belarus’ NPP facilities get All-Belarusian Youth Construction Site status
Keeping in mind a special strategic significance of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (NPP) project, its facilities have been assigned the All-Belarusian Youth Construction Site status. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed relevant Decree No.118 on youth construction sites on 10 March, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

About $470m for Belarus’ NPP construction in 2014
Nearly $470 million will be used for Belarus’ nuclear power plant project in 2014. Belarusian builders are expected to fulfill more than 86% of the works. The rest will be performed by Russian companies, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Energy Ministry of Belarus.

Emergency core cooling tanks from Russian AEM Technologies for Belarusian nuclear station
ZAO AEM Technologies, which is part of Atomenergomash (the mechanical engineering division of the Russian nuclear industry corporation Rosatom) will supply equipment for the central circulation line, tanks for the emergency core cooling system with fasteners, and pressure compensators for the first and second power-generating units of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, OAO Atomenergomash’s press service told BelTA.

License to build another power unit of Belarusian nuclear station authorized
The Board of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry has authorized issuing the license to build the second power-generating unit to the enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, BelTA learned from representatives of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department (Gosatomnadzor) of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.

Construction of power grid linkup for Belarusian nuclear station to begin in Q2 2014
The construction of the system to collect the electricity the Belarusian nuclear power plant will generate and connect the power plant with the national power grid is supposed to begin in Q2 2014, BelTA learned from Vladimir Shaternik, Grodnoenergo Director General, during the media tour arranged for central state mass media and regional ones on 20 February.
