Students earning over $1,000 monthly at Belarusian nuclear station construction site
The salary of summer workers, who worked at the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, has exceeded $1,000. The statement was made by Igor Buzovsky, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the public organization Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM), Deputy Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture, and Social Development Commission of the Council of the Republic of Belarus, on 5 September, BelTA has learned.

Russian Power Machines starts making primary equipment for Belarusian nuclear station
For the Belarusian nuclear power plant, which is under construction, OAO Power Machines will make two turbine plants, including fast steam turbines with the output capacity of 1,200MW each, condensers and equipment for auxiliary systems, as well as two turbine generators with the output capacity of 1,200MW and auxiliary systems.

Belarus to hold NPP construction consultations with Lithuania soon
In the near future Belarus plans hold consultations with representatives of the Republic of Lithuania regarding the implementation of the Belarusian nuclear power plant project, First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Belarus Vitaly Kulik said as he answered the questions at the meeting in Ostrovets on 17 August, BelTA has learnt.

Thousands employed at Belarusian nuclear station construction site
As many as 1,500 people are employed at the construction site of the future Belarusian nuclear power plant now. The information was released by Alexander Poznyakov, Chief Engineer of the Capital Construction Office of the Nuclear Power Plant Construction Directorate, in Ostrovets on 17 August, BelTA has learned.

Spent fuel from Belarusian NPP to be sent to Russia
The spent fuel from the Belarusian nuclear power plant will be sent to the Russian Federation, Chief Engineer of the Directorate for the Construction of the Nuclear Power Plant Anatoly Bondar said when answering the questions during the public hearings with representatives of the Lithuanian public in Ostrovets on 17 August, BelTA learned.

Reliable investor, market needed for second Belarusian nuclear station
The possibility of building more reactors in Ostrovets or building a second nuclear power plant in Belarus may be considered if a reliable investor is available and the market can accommodate more electricity. Lithuanian authorities fail to attend public hearings on Belarus' NPP project in Ostrovets
Belarus invited representatives of the Lithuanian ministries and government agencies to participate in the public hearings on the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, but none of the representatives arrived for this event, First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus Vitaly Kulyk said during a meeting with representatives of the Lithuanian public on 17 August, BelTA learned.
