Ecologists from Belarus, Russia survey Belarusian nuclear power plant construction site
The Russian ecologists took measurements using their own equipment. They took dosimetry measurements of the materials used to build the nuclear power plant as well as rolled metal and equipment. Ecologists did not have results of such surveys at the construction site in the past.

European ecologists invited to monitor Belarusian nuclear power plant
The joint monitoring of the construction of the nuclear power plant in Ostrovets has been conducted by ecologists from Belarus and Russia. “We hope to involve in further monitoring of the plant not only Russian but also European specialists,” Yuri Solovyev noted. For example, Belarusian ecologists are interested in the participation of representatives of Czech public organizations that possess solid experience in the oversight of nuclear power plants.

Experts of the IAEA program “The Integrated Regulatory Review Service” concluded a 12-day mission to assess the regulatory framework for nuclear and radiation safety in the Republic of Belarus. The IAEA called Belarus one of the most advanced nuclear “newcomer” countries.
