Belarus to host IAEA seminar on NPP licensing
“The seminar is of high importance for Belarus due to the future licensing of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant and the development of cooperation with the IAEA in the area of nuclear and radiation safety,” the Gosatomnadzor said.

About 650,000 tonnes of Belarusian gasoline shipped to Russia in January-August
Russia and Belarus have signed an agreement that requires the former to supply oil to the latter in return for oil products. According to the indicative balance of fuel and energy shipments in 2015 Russia is expected to sell 23 million tonnes of oil to Belarus while Belarus is supposed to ship 1.8 million tonnes of gasoline to Russia.

Belarusian Oil Company set to considerably increase export in 2015
Belarusian Oil Company intends to export a total of 11.1 million tonnes of oil products in 2015. In January-July 2015 the company exported 8.5 million tonnes. In the entire year of 2014 the company exported 7.8 million tonnes.

Belarus’ proven oil reserves close to 50m tonnes
Belorusneft’s representative noted: “We preserve the strategic oil reserves. At present we have about 50 million tonnes of proven and recoverable oil.” In his words, it is inadvisable to increase oil extraction at present, this is why oil extraction is kept at 1.645 million tonnes per annum.

The document will be signed after the 5th session of the Belarusian-Slovenian commission for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation which will take place in Minsk on 28-29 September.

Minsk to host Energy Expo 2015 on 13-16 October
The expo will also feature stands of the Belarusian Energy Ministry, the Industry Ministry, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, the Housing and Utilities Ministry, the State Science and Technology Committee, and the Department for Energy Efficiency at the Belarusian State Committee for Standardization.

Belarus elected to IAEA Board of Governors for 2015-2017
The decision was made at the plenary session of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna on 17 September. The fact that Belarus was elected to the IAEA Board of Governors shows that the country’s achievements in nuclear power engineering and the application of nuclear technologies in science, healthcare, and other fields of economy are internationally recognized.

International oil, gas industry services company eager to cooperate with Belarus
Schlumberger’s representative said: “Our division operates in the Russian Federation and the Caspian basin — Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan. We hope that today’s meeting will begin fruitful cooperation with Belarus as well.”

Three Belarusian universities to join STAR-NET initiative
According to the representative of the agency, one of the cooperation aspects with Belarus and other countries that develop national nuclear power programs is assistance in developing a personnel training system. “It is not limited to workshops (interactive training) and trainings. Apart from that, we help develop programs to train various categories of the personnel, keep track of personnel licensing, promote technical training aids,” said Vitaly Kolomiyets.

Electricity generation by Russian nuclear power plants ahead of projections in January-August
In January-August 2015 Russian nuclear power plants (branches of the Rosenergoatom concern) generated 129.5 billion kWh of electricity, 5.3 billion kWh (4.3%) above the target (124.2 billion kWh). In money terms the excess electricity is valued at RUB2.9 billion, BelTA has learned.
