General file for audits at every stage of Belarusian nuclear station lifecycle

“If we talk about the area of expertise of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry, we should mention environmental monitoring in the area around the construction site of the nuclear power plant. Investment in Belarusian nuclear station construction ahead of plans in 2014
The work on building the Belarusian nuclear power plant in 2014 followed the schedule, noted the Press Secretary. Construction workers worked to build 68 installations, including buildings of the reactor, the turbine, and the cooling tower for the first and second power-generating units of the nuclear power plant. As much as 40,000 tonnes of reinforcement bars were installed, with 290,000m3 of concrete poured.

The Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in building the nuclear power plant in Belarus had to be amended to bring it into compliance with the decisions that had been made earlier. The Belarusian Energy Minister added that a number of technical issues had to be addressed.

Construction of first, second units of Belarusian nuclear station on schedule
“The construction of the nuclear power plant goes on well. At present we stay on schedule and have no doubt that we will commission the power plant on time. Today about 3,000 people are employed at the construction site. Those are Belarusian and Russian construction workers,” said Vladimir Potupchik. In his words, more workers get employed all the time. Their number will be at an all-time high in 2016-2017. The necessary infrastructure is being prepared with this in mind.

Better border protection for Belarusian nuclear power plant
The border outposts Ostrovets and Molodechno will be created to bolster the state border protection near the Belarusian nuclear power plant. According to the source, money has been allocated. The design documents are supposed to be ready by late February. The construction of the border outposts will start by mid-2015.
