Sixteen audits of Belarusian nuclear power plant in H1 2015
The Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry carried out one comprehensive audit and 15 continuous-supervision audits of the Belarusian nuclear power plant construction project in H1 2015, BelTA learned from the Department’s press service.

Belarusian nuclear power plant construction stays on schedule
Mikhail Filimonov remarked that all the operations are performed at the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant in full compliance with the schedule. “By the end of the year the construction of the first power-generating unit’s reactor building will have to reach the 44 meters mark, that of the second power-generating unit will have to reach the 22 meters mark,” said the executive.

Strict quality control at BelNPP construction site
“We cannot allow any emergencies during the construction of the BelNPP. The quality of works at the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is under close control. Eight people independently monitor the degree of completion of the project. Each of them signs the permission to start the next construction stage,” Anatoly Chernyi noted.

Russia's Sevkabel supplies cable for Belarusian nuclear power plant
In March 2015 Sevkabel won a tender organized by Belelektromontazh Company to deliver cable and wire products for the Belarusian nuclear power plant. According to Sevkabel’s acting commercial director Alexei Kaukiajnen, some part of the products has already delivered to the consumer. Three more shipments will be made by October 2015.

Belarus to build 340,000sq. m. of housing for NPP employees in Ostrovets by 2017
Three new neighborhoods are under construction in Ostrovets. "By 2017, we are set to deliver 340,000 square meters of housing. These are fairly big numbers. We have already commissioned 108,000 square meters, which allows accommodating both the nuclear plant specialists and construction specialists," said Vladimir Potupchik.

Lukashenko calls for prudence in housing matters for BelNPP personnel
According to Alexander Lukashenko, lots of proposals have been made regarding the retention of personnel. The President cautioned against "fast and poorly thought-out decisions” on this matter. “Specialists of middle and senior segments will be paid good salaries. Such specialists are paid highly everywhere in the world. Therefore we need to take into account that they will be able afford some housing, for example, rental housing," said the head of state.
