Belorusneft to start geologic exploration of oil fields in India
“In the area of petrochemical industry a memorandum of understanding is being signed by Belorusneft and Oil India Ltd with a view to performing geologic exploration of oil fields in India,” Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov told mass media.

Today the global nuclear industry has recovered the volume of orders and the number of nuclear power plants under construction since the tragedy at the Fukushima nuclear power plant,” stressed the Rosatom head. “Nuclear energy industry develops fast and changes: the lifecycle of nuclear power plants grow longer, the geography changes, new technologies become available. Belarus to raise oil export duties 1 June
The export duty on crude oil will go up from $116.5 to $144.4 per tonne. The duty on straight-run gasoline will make up $122.7 per tonne as against the current $99 per tonne, commercial gasoline - $112.6 ($90.8). The export duty on light and medium distillates will be $69.3 ($55.9). The same duty is applied to gas oil, benzene, toluene, xylene, lubricants, and other oils.

Belarusian technologies for more effective nuclear waste utilization
Vladimir Nemtsev remarked that the choice of the material to make the packaging is very important. The United Energy and Nuclear Research Institute Sosny has researched and proved the viability of using composite thermoplastic materials to make radioactive waste containers. The technology to make the materials is well-studied and practiced in Belarus.

Norway, Finland, Sweden, Belarus to outline areas of cooperation in nuclear safety
The heads of the radiation and nuclear safety authorities of North European countries (Norway, Sweden and Finland) are in Belarus on a visit from 27 to 29 May for meetings with experts in the relevant fields, BelTA learned from the Communications and Public Information Office of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department (Gosatomnadzor) of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.
