More outlets abroad to accept Belorusneft’s fuel cards
In particular, the number of refueling stations located along the main motorways in Russia will reach 200 while the number of refueling stations in Europe will reach 50. Last year Belorusneft’s fuel cards were accepted by 38 refueling stations in Russia. At the same time only a handful of refueling stations in the European Union accept Belorusneft’s fuel cards. Those are the refueling stations the company has signed the relevant agreements and has smooth partnering relations with, explained the source.

Belorusneft to extract oil from Armadillo field in Ecuador
Oil will be extracted from the Armadillo field. The Ecuadorian state oil company Petroamazonas and the consortium Ecuaservoil signed a 15-year contract for providing services on 10 February. Ecuaservoil was established in 2014 by Belorusneft and the Ecuadorian engineering company Edinpetrol.

Belarus, Iraq discuss cooperation in oil and gas infrastructure projects
A possibility for Belarusian companies to take part in projects to improve oil and gas infrastructure in Iraq was discussed during the working visit of Belarus’ Ambassador to Turkey and Iraq (on concurrent) Andrei Savinykh to Basra Province of Iraq, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

Belarus’ first waste oil recycling plant to open in February
The new plant will establish the collection order and rational use of waste oils as well as prevent a negative impact of waste on the environment. The production will be almost waste-free. The new plant will be unmatched in the post-Soviet space.

Energy intensity of Belarus’ GDP 1.7% down in January-November 2014
Sergei Semashko explained: “In January-November the energy intensity of Belarus’ GDP dropped by 1.7% while the GDP growth rate was 101.7%. Unfortunately, we have been unable to hit the 3% target”.

Belorusneft discovers new oil deposit in Gomel Oblast
Oil flow to surface was secured in the Rechitskoye field by drilling an exploration well 2,826-2,870m below the surface. The initial yield of the well was close to 100t per day. The new oil deposit was found as part of the follow-up exploration of the existing oil fields. The well was drilled on the basis of the research performed by the Belarusian oil industry research institute BelNIPIneft. The drilling began in August 2014.

Belarus reduces export duties on oil, oil products
The export duty on crude oil dropped from $170.2 to $112.9 per tonne. The export duty on straight-run gasoline went down from $132.7 per tonne to $95.9, with the export duty on commercial gasoline down from $132.7 to $88 per tonne respectively. The export duty on light and medium distillates now stands at $54.1 per tonne (down from $81.6). The same export duty will be applied to benzene, toluene, xylene, lubricants, and other oils.

IAEA Director General: More NPPs will be built in the future
“The accident at the Japanese nuclear power plant (at the Fukushima NPP in the spring of 2011 – BelTA’s note), was a setback for the nuclear energy; some countries even suspended their nuclear projects. However, I have no doubts that more nuclear power plants will be built in the future,” Yukiya Amano said. In his words, the focus is shifting towards Asia where the role of nuclear power is increasing. He mentioned India and China where the demand for electric power is huge.

Mozyr Oil Refinery processes over 12m tonnes of oil in 2014
In 2014 OAO Mozyr Oil Refinery processed more than 12 million tonnes of oil, which was a record high for the refiner founded in 1994, BelTA learned from the press center of Mozyr Oil Refinery.
