Belarus to host international conference on nuclear instrumentation
“The participants of the forum are expected to discuss a wide range of issues covering various scientific areas: from high-energy physics to medical diagnosis and nuclear safety systems. The conference will focus on scintillation materials that are the main element, the “heart” of ionizing-radiation detectors. A detector is a device to find and measure the parameters of ionizing radiation like cosmic rays or particles from nuclear disintegration. The forum will also consider the results of the Big Hadron Collider program in the European Organization for Nuclear Research, new trends in developing materials for detectors and detection methods,” the university said.

Over 320 companies from 15 countries to participate in EnergyExpo 2014 in Minsk
Foreign exhibitors, including representatives of Austria, Germany, Italy, China, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, Finland, France, and Czechia, make up about 20% of the total number of participants. Belarus unaffected by Ukraine’s decision to stop electricity export
The share of Ukrainian electricity was about 4.5% of Belarus’ electricity budget for October 2014, BelTA learned from Belarusian First Deputy Energy Minister Leonid Shenets as he commented on Ukraine’s decision to stop supplying electricity to Belarus.

Energy Ministry: Ukraine’s halt in electricity export to Belarus will not affect local consumers
“On 2 October Ukraine stopped exporting electricity to Belarus. This, however, will not affect the national economy and households of the country,” specialists said. Ukrainian supplies will be partially replaced by electricity import from Russia. The rest will be generated inside the country, the press service added.

Belarus to keep all export duties on oil products in 2015
In 2015 Belarus will keep all the export duties on oil products, which are made in Belarus and are exported beyond borders of the Customs Union. First Vice Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko and Russian Vice Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich signed the relevant protocol in Sochi on 7 October, the press service of the Belarus government told BelTA.
