Belarus reduces oil export duties 1 September
On 1 September 2014 Belarus will reduce export duties on oil and oil products exported outside the customs territory of the Customs Union. The decision is stipulated in Resolution No. 837 of the Council of Ministers as of 27 August 2014, BelTA has learned.

Oil fountain from new Belarusian well in Venezuela
The well unplugged the most productive part of the previously surveyed deposits in block X Lago Medio at Lake Maracaibo. The oil-saturated thickness of the discovered horizon is 60 meters. Over the two weeks of commercial operation of the oil well the oil output came close to 30,000 barrels or 4,200 tonnes.

Belorusneft seismic project named best in Ecuador
Belarus’ state-run oil company Belorusneft has become a laureate of the annual contest held by the reputable Ecuadoran journal Oil&Gas Year. The Belarusian company won the Best Seismic Project 2014 Award for its oil exploration project in Ecuador’s eastern oil field, BelTA learned from Belorusneft.

Belarusian, Russian weather services to monitor environmental radiation
According to the official, the efforts will be organized in compliance with the program for developing the Union State hydrometeorology security system. The relevant document has been approved by the Belarusian and Russian ministries concerned and has been forwarded for consideration of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

OAO Atomproekt (St. Petersburg) has developed a mobile application “Clean Energy of Nuclear Power Plant” which allows smartphone users to evaluate the safety of a modern nuclear power plant and to understand the process of energy production, BelTA learned from the press service of the Russian company.

BelNPP general contractor awarded Grand Prix, First Class, at Russian contest for best construction company
The Russian company OAO NIAEP – ZAO Atomstroyexport (ASE) which is the general designer and the general contractor of the Belarusian nuclear power plant construction project was awarded the Grand Prix, First Class, at the 18th all-Russian contest for the best construction company, BelTA learned from the communications department of the Russian company.

Belarus, France to develop cooperation in nuclear, radiation security
The heads of the Belarusian Gosatomnadzor and the French Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) have signed a framework agreement on cooperation in Paris, BelTA learnt from the nuclear and radiation security department of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus.

Belarusian experts to visit French radiation monitoring laboratories
Belarusian experts will visit the crisis center and laboratories of environmental radiation monitoring at the Institute of Radiation Protection and Nuclear Security (IRSN, France). The visit is envisaged by the program of the trip in Paris for a delegation of the department for nuclear and radiation security of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus, BelTA learnt from the Gosatomnadzor.
