Over 600 exhibitors from 26 countries at Minsk Book Fair
More than 600 exhibitors from 26 countries will participate in the twenty-first edition of the Minsk International Book Fair due in Minsk on 5-9 February, First Deputy Information Minister of Belarus Lilia Ananich told media, BelTA has learnt.

Minsk to host international forum on education in April
The international education forum titled as Quality of Higher and Professional Education in the European Perspective scheduled in Minsk for April 2014 is expected to be an important dialogue on the ways of developing education, improving its quality and efficiency, and strengthening international cooperation in this field, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UK to Belarus Bruce Bucknell told media, BelTA learned.

UK offers assistance for Belarus’ education sector
Bruce Bucknell, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UK to Belarus, noted that Belarus and the United Kingdom are keen on expanding cooperation in the academic field. “The UK government would like to provide assistance for the education sector of Belarus. As for Magna Carta College Oxford, it is very important that its programs are also meant for people with special needs,” the diplomat noted.

Over RUB3bn for Union State military-technical cooperation programs in 2014
Belarus and Russia are set to implement 10 programs and four assignments as part of the Union State military-technical cooperation in 2014. A total of RUB3.16 billion will be allocated for these purposes, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota said at the working meeting to discuss the Union State military programs, BelTA informs with reference to Belorusskaya Voennaya Gazeta, the official newspaper of the Defense Ministry.

Belarus, Russia to produce composite materials in Saint Petersburg
A Belarusian-Russian joint company will make composite materials in Saint Petersburg. The project was viewed as one of the most promising programs discussed at the meeting between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko and Saint Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko in Saint Petersburg on 29 January, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Embassy of Belarus in the Russian Federation.
