Belarus’ first pulmonary artery allotransplantation performed in Brest
“Other options included a lung autograft surgery. However, we decided in favor of a less traumatic option: to remove the lung lobe and the section of the pulmonary artery affected by the tumor and to replace them with a donor allograft. This surgery is simpler, but has the same effect. More than that, it allows considerably reducing the risk of post-surgery complications,” Rostislav Boufalik said.

French company might build sports medicine hospital in Minsk
A French delegation consisting of Co-Manager of Groupe A40 Architectes Bordeaux Gwen Marien and Founder of Clinique du Sport de Bordeaux-Merignac Michel Allard is considering a possibility to construct a sports medicine hospital in Belarus, BelTA learnt from the Sports and Tourism Ministry of Belarus.

Belarusian HTP may hold presentations in USA in autumn
The visit was organized with the assistance of the Belarusian Embassy in the United States. In Washington Valery Tsepkalo met with the representatives of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the International Monetary Fund, the Director of the Eurasian Office of the U.S. Department of Commerce and the representative of the business training program SABIT. Belarus among the top 50 countries with best antenatal care
The Healthcare Ministry cited the WHO World Health Statistics 2014 that analyzes the countries’ fulfillment of health-related millennium development goals (MDG) and global health indicators. The health-related millennium development goals include reduction in the under-five mortality rate, maternal mortality ratio, improvement of maternal health, fight against HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.

Belarusians to need e-passports to travel to Israel visa-free
The Belarus-Israel draft agreement on visa-free travels has already been approved by the Israeli Interior Ministry and submitted to the Foreign Ministry of Israel. The agreement also needs to be approved by the parliament. “I think it will be done within two months,” Faina Kirschenbaum said.

PayPal unable to use Belarusian rubles for now
For now PayPal does not operate Belarusian rubles and is available only to natural persons. PayPal’s representatives were not prepared to disclose when the system will be able to handle Belarusian rubles and when Belarusian corporations will be able to use PayPal’s services. “We have made our first step on the Belarusian market. We will announce the availability of new services as soon as we are ready for it,” noted the source.

NASB’s Researcher Training Institute as nucleus of future academic university
The Researcher Training Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will become the nucleus of the academic university, which is supposed to be created in the near future. The opinion was voiced by Zhores Alferov, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Rector of the Saint Petersburg Academic University of the Russian Academy of Sciences, before the ceremony to present diplomas to graduates of the 2014 master’s degree program of the Researcher Training Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus began on 7 July, BelTA has learned.

Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park gets new name
The Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park has been named the Great Stone Industrial Park. The new name of the park was formalized by Decree No. 326 “Concerning the operation of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park “Great Stone Industrial Park” signed by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on 30 June, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.
