Belarus prioritizes innovation-driven development, information society
The innovation-driven development and the formation of an information society are national priorities in Belarus. The statement was made as part of the welcome address by Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich to participants and visitors of the expos TIBO 2014, Mass Media in Belarus, and the Belarusian Congress on Information Society Technologies, BelTA has learned.

Belarus to invest $13m in Green Towns project
“Many countries pay more attention to urban environment and ways to improve it. Belarus is no exception. The country is working on the project “Belarus’ green towns – support for green urbanism in small and medium-sized towns in Belarus”, Natalia Zharkina said. According to her, the total cost of the project will make up about $13 million, of which $3.1 million will be provided by the UNDP.

Belarusian Promsvyaz suggests manufacturing cooperation to Huawei

Smorgon District completes construction of two wind turbines
The project to construct the wind-driven power generators has been implemented by the Belarusian company Aero Stream. The turbines are 58 meters high and produce 600kWh each. They have been set up on the plot of land allocated for the construction of the wind farm near the village of Krevo. The power generators have already passed the test period and produced energy that was transmitted to the energy system of the region.

Two new aircraft for Belarusian air carrier Belavia soon
In the near future the Belarusian air carrier Belavia will get two new aircraft. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko was informed about the acquisition at the government conference held in the National Airport Minsk on 15 April to discuss the airport’s development prospects, the press service of the head of state told BelTA.

BSU signs cooperation agreements at Hannover Messe 2014
The Belarusian university signed an agreement with Laborbio Ltd. (Bulgaria) for the supply of the AlmaMeter measuring complex developed in the research laboratory of information and measurement systems FRKT at the BSU. In addition, the Belarusian university and the Bulgarian company signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of development of laboratory equipment.

Panoramic photos for hockey championship guests in Minsk
Yandex is implementing a pilot project in Minsk to make interior panoramic photos. The company is going to make panoramic photos of Chizhovka Arena and Minsk Arena. By May the photos will become available on the Internet. Anyone, who arrives in Minsk, will be able to find these sport venues, see what they look like inside, where seats are located, and where parking lots are.
