A BelAZ vehicle won a grand prix at the 21th international specialized expo Russian Coal and Mining 2014 in the city of Novokuznetsk. It is Russia’s largest mining industry expo, representatives of Belarusian Autoworks (BelAZ trademark) told BelTA.

Technology cluster to make 3D printers in Belarus
“We can enter the market of 3D printing services because there is still space for action in this area. Current 3D printers are not perfect. A lot of new ideas are still needed to make 3D printers affordable, fit them with a wide range of functions and, most of all, greatly increase the quality of printed products,” he said. In his opinion, opportunities for designing improved 3D printers are available now.

Corridor for rapid railway reserved in Belarus
The corridor crosses the lands that will not be used for development purposes. “A high-speed railroad that will connect Moscow and Berlin via Minsk may be built in the future. The proposal to connect Minsk, Moscow, and Astana has been recently voiced, but it will be possible only if Chinese specialists intend to build a transcontinental railroad in the direction of Europe and this section will be part of it,” said the Minister.

Boeing jets to reduce Belavia’s ticket prices
The new Boeing 737-800 aircraft will allow the Belarusian air carrier Belavia to reduce ticket prices, BelTA learned from Belavia Director General Anatoly Gusarov on 26 June after the company signed an agreement with Boeing on buying three Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Boeing will consider a possibility of setting up an aircraft maintenance hub in Belarus, Vice President for Sales of Commercial Aircraft at Boeing Martin Bentrott said after signing an agreement on selling three Boeing 737-800 aircraft to Belavia, BelTA has learnt.

Fourth mobile carrier in Belarus ‘a risky proposition’
Setting up a fourth mobile carrier in Belarus is a commercially risky proposition. The opinion was voiced by Dmitry Shedko, First Deputy Information Technologies and Communications Minister of Belarus, at the roundtable session held in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 25 June to discuss the development of the national telecommunication market, BelTA has learned.

Belovezhskaya Pushcha status on UNESCO World Heritage List modified
The World Heritage Committee approved the extension of the transboundary site in Poland and Belarus at the 38th session in Doha on 23 June. The transboundary object is now called Bialowieza Forest (Belovezhskaya Pushcha) with a total area of 141,885 hectares, of which 81,000 are in Belarus. Together with the buffer zone the area of the forest is 308,583 hectares.
