Belarusian scientists encouraged towards small-scale biotechnologies
In his words, scientists are busy developing the concept to advance the biological industry. The concept envisages changes in relations between the production sector and science and modernization of the former. “Scientists are shaping the research field, carry out the tasks they are assigned but it is not enough. It is necessary for researches to be carried out in tight association with the production sector. With this in mind the concept provides for the customer of a research, in other words, the production sector to be responsible for results,” said the scientist.

Myasnikovich invites Turkmenistan to intensify scientific exchange with Belarus
“We need to step up academic exchange, expand postgraduate and doctoral programs,” the Belarusian head of government said. In his words, about 8,500 Turkmen students study at Belarusian universities. About 10% (the most talented) of them could apply for post-graduate programs at Belarusian universities and the National Academy of Sciences.

Belarusian students win medals at IT-Universe Olympiad
Partaking in the competitions were four countries: Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan; more than 1,500 students from over 150 educational establishments. The final was reached by over 60 students from 34 higher education and vocational institutions.

Border crossing e-booking system at Kamenny Log in 2015
“This year we plan to introduce the e-booking queue for cargo carriers at the Kozlovichi checkpoint on the border with Poland. Next year the service will be available at Kamenny Log,” the spokesman said. In his words, a service area has already been opened in Kozlovichi where drivers can park their vehicles and have some rest.

NASB, Alferov Foundation institute prize for young scientists
In order to encourage Belarusian young scientists (under 35) the NASB Presidium decided to establish a prize of the Foundation to Support Education and Science (Alferov Foundation) and the National Academy of Sciences for scientific works and inventions that are essential for the fundamental and applied science. The initiative of establishing such a prize for young scientists was made by Nobel Prize Winner, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Zhores Alferov.

Belarus mulls over energy efficient production under Israeli technology
The prospects of the Belarusian-Israeli cooperation in energy were discussed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Israel Vladimir Skvortsov and Jupiter Energy Director Yariv Landau. The parties considered the production of equipment in Belarus with the use of Israeli technologies is one of the ways to boost cooperation. The production of the kind will reduce energy consumption by 15%.

Construction works at Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park to start on 19 June
A solemn foundation stone laying ceremony in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park and the start of the construction works are scheduled for 19 June. Korea to help Belarus draft IT development program
Belarus’ IT development program for the period after 2015 will be elaborated using financial and consultative assistance of the World Bank and the Government of Korea. The corresponding agreement was reached during the meeting of Aide to the President Vsevolod Yanchevsky with Executive Vice President of the Korea Internet & Security Agency Kwang Jin Park and head of the World Bank delegation Sandra Sargent, BelTA has learnt.
