Belarus to go up in International Telecommunication Union ranking
The Information Technologies and Communications Ministry expects Belarus to go up in the year 2013 ranking of the International Telecommunication Union. The statement was made by Dmitry Shedko, First Deputy Information Technologies and Communications Minister, at the roundtable session held in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 25 June to discuss the development of the national telecommunication market, BelTA has learned.

Over 1,000 criminal cases filed in CIS in 2013 on information security charges
Over 1,000 criminal cases involving information security were filed in the CIS states in 2013, BelTA learned from Chairman of the State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus Valery Vakulchik at the session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 24 June.

CIS states to unite efforts against IT threats
The CIS agreement on cooperation in information security, which ratification is to be considered by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 24 June, will be aimed at uniting the efforts of the CIS member states against the threats of using information and communication technologies for unlawful purposes, BelTA learnt from Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives’ permanent commission on human rights, national relations and mass media Oksana Nekhaichik.

NASB to draft Belarus’ economic strategy for the period until 2030
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) will develop an economic development strategy for Belarus for the period until 2030. The matter was discussed during a working meeting of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko with Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB Vladimir Gusakov on 23 June, BelTA has learnt.

The project to create a communication satellite that Belarus is now implementing together with Chinese partners will become a serious step for Belarus in the space industry, BelTA learned from Piotr Klimuk, a USSR cosmonaut of Belarusian origin.

First enterprise in Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park in 2015
“The construction of the internal infrastructure inside the park will begin today,” said Anatoly Tozik. “It is important to start real construction. I hope it will be started this year”. The Vice Premier said he was confident that there will be no problems with resident companies since the portfolio contains a lot of proposals. “Together with Chinese partners we are creating the conditions to foster the arrival of companies with cutting-edge technologies from various countries,” he said.

“The census will take into account the number of nests occupied by birds, the number of nestlings and the number of nests where nestlings did not grow up. The information regarding the number of white storks is important to control the population figures and develop measures to protect this species,” the bird protection organization explained.
