Belarus president instructs to start making human lactoferrin out of goat milk by year end
Alexander Lukashenko was made familiar with the breeding of transgenic goats and the use of their milk to produce human lactoferrin for medical purposes. A herd of animals that produce human lactoferrin has been created thanks to the implementation of two programs of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in Belarus. For the first time Belarus has a new substance that can advance the effort to create highly effective and safe solutions to prevent human diseases. In particular, a technology to make medications and food that contain human lactoferrin has been created, test batches of merchandise have been made.

Belarus to get $2.2m to cut down on use of ozone depleting substances
Belarus is taking part in the international technical aid project to reduce hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) consumption for the period until 2020. The project is financed by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The beneficiaries of the project are environmental protection ministries of Belarus, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

NASB to launch 3D printer manufacturing program
The representative of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus said that in Belarus 3D printing may focus on electromechanical microsystems — sensors and small volume solutions. The printers can also be used to build homes out of concrete mixtures and create complicated components out of powdered metals. “We welcome proposals from scientists regarding possible 3D printing applications,” said the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Lithuanian entrepreneur suggests ice as heating solution to Belarus
Olegas Romaskevicius explained that when water freezes, the process dissipates as much heat as the process of heating water up to 80C. The peculiarity can be exploited. The house that needs heating has to be fitted with solar collectors on the roof and an underground ice storage facility. One or several circuits of the thermal pump are then inserted into the underground ice storage in order to accumulate heating energy from the soil.

High localization for telecom equipment manufacturing in Belarus promised
On 8 September Mikhail Myasnikovich took part in the ceremony to open labs for intellectual remote surveillance systems and modern information and communication technologies of the Huawei Technologies training center in the education institution Higher State College of Communications. The labs are fitted with automatic telephone station equipment that supports IP telephony, multiservice access, VoIP gateways, a high-definition video conferencing system, a dummy of an intellectual automobile traffic management system. The labs contribute an investment in the future, in personnel training, in production and design at a factory of Promsvyaz Company, stated the head of government.

Ten countries to take part in Belarus Energy and Ecology Forum
Specialists will discuss the priority areas in the fuel and energy complex, enhancement of energy performance of the national economy of Belarus and environment issues. Partaking in the discussions will be energy ministers, heads of the ministries of housing and public utilities, national resources and environment, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, foreign experts, including the heads of the German and Austrian energy agencies.

Belarusian scientist honored by Russian Academy of Sciences
Belarusian scientist Anatoly Kulak has been honored with the medal “In Memory of Academician N.M. China-Belarus Industrial Park envisaged as part of new Silk Road project
Among other things the sides discussed possibilities of developing the China-Belarus Industrial Park as part of the project to build the economic belt Silk Road. The start of the project’s implementation was announced by China President Xi Jinping in autumn 2013. The project is supposed to unite economic interests of the countries located between the Pacific Ocean and the Baltic Sea. Plans have been made to set up a transit transport system that will unite China and Central Asia and will connect this region with Africa and Europe.
