Information and communication technology infrastructure improving in Belarus
Belarus has improved the main indicators that characterize the communication infrastructure and information and communication technologies, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian telecommunication operator Beltelecom as the press service referred to data of the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications for 2013.

EBRD-sponsored energy-saving office complex opens in Minsk
The project has been implemented by the Israeli company Fishman Group with assistance of the EBRD, which had allocated €8.7 million for the project. The new office center consumes nearly half as less energy than an average office building in Belarus. The saved energy can reach 1.35MWh per annum or the equivalent of €85,500. Thanks to new ecological solutions the complex can also minimize carbon dioxide emissions, noted the source.

Lukashenko: The China-Belarus Industrial Park should attract world-renowned companies
The China-Belarus Industrial Park should attract the biggest and well-known companies from Belarus and China as well as from Europe and other continents, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Zhang Gaoli on 26 September, BelTA has learned.

Farthest advancement in Belarus-Russia integration projects in electronics
“Quite good advancement has been secured by a number of integration projects, for instance, those involving Belarusian Integral and Rostec Corporation. On the whole, we advance most successfully in the area of high technologies, electronics, and the creation of components,” noted the official. In his words, both sides are clearly motivated to cooperate, create joint products, and take part in government orders.

Over 250 Belarusians complete training on ITEC program
The Government of India has organized a number of events worldwide to celebrate the date. Events will be held from 15 September 2014 to 15 September 2015. According to specialists, the ITEC program is an important mechanism of exchanging knowledge and skills, and is widely popular. In 2013-2014 over 10,000 scholarships were allocated to 161 countries including Belarus under the ITEC program.

Belarus among world leaders in healthcare availability
Not long ago Belarus’ healthcare system was ranked 42nd of 51 nations assessed by Bloomberg in its annual report Bloomberg Ranking: Most Efficient Health Care 2014. “Belarus in the list goes above many economically developed countries. This information led a lively discussion in our society although it was not a discovery for us, medics. In many areas we take good positions in comparison with many other countries,” he noted.

Expert: Belarus needs infrastructure to implement nano technologies in production
“There is no need for Belarus to inject money in the development of a science-intensive nanotechnological product. The country already has it. Belarus only needs infrastructure for transferring knowledge and technology into real production. One of the tasks we are currently addressing together with the Economy Ministry and the State Science and Technology Committee is to attract government funds for the development of such infrastructure,” Sergei Zhdanok said.

New Belarus-Korea information access center to train up to 200 people monthly
Belarusian Information Technologies and Communications Minister Sergei Popkov stated for his part: “There is a lot we can learn from our Korean counterparts. They have already helped us make a considerable headway in IT penetration in Belarus.” He stressed that today the government considers ways for the implementation of IT projects, including those regarding bio passports.
