Over 150 scientists to gather for geo-ecology conference in Minsk
Attending the conference will be scientists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The forum will mark the 80th anniversary of the Geography Department of the Belarusian State University, the press service said.

Belarus offers Sverdlovsk Oblast to set up joint cluster to manufacture quarry vehicles
"I have a suggestion and let's consider it today. I suggest we set up the joint cluster to produce quarry vehicles,” said the head of government at the beginning of the meeting. “We manufacture dump trucks. You have the machine-building corporation Uralmash that produces powerful excavators. If we complement these two lineups with relevant special-purpose machines, we will be bale to create and jointly sell powerful mining systems,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.

China to allocate RMB150m to Belarus for technical and economic aid projects
The Government of the People’s Republic of China will allocate Belarus a RMB150 million grant for the project to electrify the territory of the priority development area of the China-Belarus Industrial Park and other projects of technical and economic assistance coordinated by the two parties. It is envisaged in an intergovernmental agreement between the two countries on technical and economic assistance, which was officially published on the national legal Internet portal on 8 October, BelTA has learned.

Belarus’ first quick electric car recharging station to open in Minsk
The station will allow electric cars to recharge their accumulators within only 30 minutes, which is 12 times shorter than the time available from several other electric car recharging stations in Minsk. The CHAdeMO standard allows quickly recharging accumulators of mass-produced electric cars, with the charge power at 50kW.

Belarus initiating old battery processing factory construction
The official said that during the session Belarus intends to raise the matter of getting used batteries and accumulators processed. “In particular, we will initiate the deliberation of the proposal in favor of building a factory to process old batteries in Belarus or maybe Russia,” said Vladimir Tsalko.

Belarus to set up coordination center for genetic resources
Belarus will establish the National Coordination Center on Access to Genetic Resources and Benefit Sharing. The decision was formalized by Council of Ministers’ Resolution No. 933 as of 1 October 2014, BelTA learned from the National Center of Legal Information.
