Korean aid for Belarus’ informatization strategy for 2016-2022
The First Deputy Information Technologies and Communications Minister explained that such centers are designed to focus on education, raising the ICT awareness, spreading ICT knowledge and so on. “The center in Belarus will be more geared towards searching for promising avenues for small business that can grow into promising Belarusian-Korean projects later on,” explained Dmitry Shedko.

Belarus’ position on climate change endorsed by UN summiteers
Addressing the summiteers, the Belarusian head of government underlined Belarus’ commitment to its climate obligations, including the Kyoto Protocol. Mikhail Myasnikovich called upon the UN member states to work out a new universal agreement on climate by late 2015, which will envisage not only the commitment to reduce emissions but also mechanisms to provide economic incentives for achieving reductions in the emissions of pollutants.

Belarus, South Korea to expand cooperation in ICT
To this end, the Belarusian Information Technologies and Communications Ministry and the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning of Korea are set to sign a memorandum of understanding. The document will be concluded during the visit of the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning of Korea Choi Yanghee to Belarus on 24 September 2014. The Department for Information Technologies of Belarus and the National Information Society Agency of Korea will also sign a memorandum to boost cooperation in the field of ICT.

Belarus’ healthcare system ranked 42nd of 51 nations assessed by Bloomberg in its annual report Bloomberg Ranking: Most Efficient Health Care 2014, informs the website of the agency. Belarus was two positions higher than the United States.

Solar-powered bicycle parking lots, bus stop shelters in Minsk
In 2015 Minsk will get 150 bicycle parking lots with 250-watt solar modules. The self-powered multipurpose parking facilities fitted with Wi-Fi Internet access will also be used to charge mobile phones, tablets, and laptops.

Pharmaceutics and energy are viewed as the most promising areas for cooperation between Vitebsk Oblast and Slovakia. The statement was made by Vitebsk Oblast Vice Governor Oleg Matskevich and members of the Slovak diplomatic mission at a meeting in the oblast executive committee to mark the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Slovakia in Vitebsk on 19 September, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian Railways to present diesel locomotive at German InnoTrans
The new high-technology locomotive is made by the Lida-based locomotive depot in association with the Czech company CZ Loko. Since 2010 the facility has assembled 40 shunting locomotives of the TME1 and TME2 series for Belarusian Railways. Since then the Belarusian railroad operator has accumulated positive experience of making TME1 and TME2 series diesel locomotives. Apart from that, the company has also started making two-axle shunting locomotives of the TME3 series.
