Belarus up on global Internet access charts
Beltelecom representatives noted that Internet access in Belarus has become more affordable and accessible. For instance, in comparison with the previous year Belarus’ broadband value index improved by 26 positions to reach the 33rd position ($3.61 per 1Mbps). Belarus is ahead of countries like Switzerland ($3.76 per 1Mbps), Norway ($3.89 per 1Mbps), Greece ($3.96 per 1Mbps), Turkey ($4.39 per 1Mbps), Italy ($5.98 per 1Mbps), Spain ($6.31 per 1Mbps), France ($6.69 per 1Mbps), Australia ($8.29 per 1Mbps), and Philippines ($21 per 1Mbps).

Minsk to host dental forum 22-24 October
Minsk will welcome dentists, dental mechanists, heads of stomatological clinics, dental specialists, producers and suppliers of stomatological products. They will discuss achievements in stomatology, hold master classes and demonstrations, exchange the best practices, discuss preventive measures and treatment of teeth among children and adults.

CIS’ top energy effectiveness lab to open in Belarus
The largest laboratory in the Commonwealth of Independent States to assess the energy effectiveness of products will be set up in Belarus, BelTA learned from Chairman of the State Standardization Committee of Belarus Viktor Nazarenko during the 5th international conference on energy saving, ways to enhance energy effectiveness, and topical avenues and practical experience of saving energy in residential homes on 16 October. The conference took place as part of the 19th Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum in Minsk.

Belarusian scientists suggest technologies to create Future Circular Collider
According to Alexander Lobko, a program to modernize the Large Hadron Collider in CERN is in development. The new project has been named Future Circular Collider (FCC). All the proposals concerning its improvement have to be ready by 2018. Plans have been made to increase the power of the particle accelerator up to 100 teraelectronvolts (TeV). The power of the current Large Hadron Collider is 14TeV.
